Install TMG SP1

Log on to TMG server as an administrator. The following are the steps to install TMG service pack 1
Backup Forefront TMG Server
  • In the Forefront TMG Management console, in the tree, click the Enterprise node.
  • On the Tasks tab, click Export Enterprise Configuration.
  • To export confidential information, such as user passwords and certificates, select Export confidential information and provide a password. Confidential information is encrypted during the export process. The password you enter here will be required to import the configuration.
  • To export user permissions, select Export user permission settings.
  • In Save this data in this file, specify the folder in which the export file will be saved, and the file name.
  • In File name, enter a name for the exported file.
To backup TMG Array
  • In the Forefront TMG Management console, in the tree, click the array ArrayName.
  • On the Tasks tab, click Export (Back up) Array Configuration.
  • To export confidential information, such as user passwords and certificates, select Export confidential information and provide a password. Confidential information is encrypted during the export process. The password you enter here will be required to import the configuration.
  • To export user permissions, select Export user permission settings.
  • In Save this data in this file, specify the folder in which the export file will be saved, and the file name.
  • In File name, enter a name for the exported file.
Download Forefront TMG SP1 from Microsoft Download Centre
Important! Before you install, Log on as an administrator.
Start installation using downloaded service pack by double clicking TMG-KB981324-amd64-ENU.msp setup file and follow the setup screen. Alternatively, you can open command prompt and type
msiexec /p TMG-KB981324-amd64-ENU.msp REINSTALL=all REINSTALLMODE=omus STORAGESERVER_CONNECT_ACCOUNT=mydomain\mydomainpermitteduser STORAGESERVER_CONNECT_PWD=mypwd /qb
Once you finish installation, make sure you verify all the settings in array. You can check logs and Windows events to see everything ok. Also run BPA to check TMG config and installation are ok.

TMG SP1 New Features: TMG SP1 includes user activity reports.
1.In the Forefront TMG Management console, in the tree, click the Logs & Reports node.
2.In the details pane, click the Reporting tab.
3.In the Tasks pane, click the report type that you want to create.
4.Type a name for the report. The report you create will be saved on the details pane of the Reporting tab, where you can edit its properties and manually initiate a report.
5.Do one of the following according to the report type:
One-time report—On the Report Period page, specify the number of days you want to include in the report. The maximum number of days is 60.
Recurring report job—On the Recurring Report Job Scheduling page, specify how often and when the job will run.
User activity report—On the Report Details page, select the report period from the list, and type the usernames or IP addresses that you want to include in the report.

6.If you want to modify the default parameters of the report, do the following:
a.On the Report Content page, click the report category that you want to modify, and then click Edit Report Details.

b.Select a report subcategory from the Subcategory list, then click the Parameter Value and adjust the value as required.
c.In some report subcategories you can modify the order in which the data is displayed. To do this, under Sort Order, select the parameter value to be used for sorting the data in the report.
7.(Optional). On the Send E-mail notification page, enable Send e-mail notification for completed reports and configure how you want to send such notifications.

8.If you want to be able to view this report without opening the Forefront TMG Management console, configure Forefront TMG to publish reports on the Report Publishing page.

9.Complete the wizard, and then click Finish. On the Apply Changes bar, click Apply.

Right click on newly created report job and click on generate Report. You will be presented user report in Internet explorer.
