win32.sality and win32.downadup Security Update:
We had a serious problem in our network. All the Windows XP Clients can't browse Entire network. When the user click on Microsoft windows network an error message appear:
"Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission."
And everything will work fine after restarting the PC and after while the system will work slowly and it will happen again etc
After searching for the cause of this problem we found out it happened due to 2 viruses (worms) called win32.sality, win32.downadup.
Both are infecting the system using vulnerability in windows XP - Server Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution. (MS08-067) Microsoft Windows Server Service Vulnerability (958644)
So Microsoft released a security update to solve this problem.
